ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Orangeburg County officials held a public meeting Monday to outline goals that include attracting employers, preparing residents for higher-paying jobs, and guiding future growth.
County Councilman Kenneth McCaster said the plan is not just about business, but also about making Orangeburg a place residents are proud to call home.
"I think jobs are important and businesses coming here are important, but another thing the sustainability study talked about was recreation and making people feel better about where they live," McCaster said.
County leaders say the plan focuses on improving quality of life, strengthening the local workforce, and growing in areas that have the infrastructure to support it.
"I think we are in a great situation. I think we are headed in
