LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Southwest scored four runs in the third inning on Monday night in the Class A Championship. Then, pitcher Maisey McCarty locked down the title for the Silver Hawks.

McCarty struck out ten batters, including three Millard North batters in the fifth inning, to guide LSW to the fifth state title in school history. McCarty also added an RBI double at the plate.

Raegan Brandt and Brenly Noerrlinger also had run-producing hits for Lincoln Southwest. After the final out, the Silver Hawks hoisted the trophy on a brisk October night in their hometown. Bowlin Stadium hosted the NSAA State Finals this year, which prompted LSW to set the goal of reaching the championship round before the season began.
