A push to make sure no one lives in fear in Bridgeport. The city took a step forward Monday to increase transparency and accountability when it comes to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

They say as of May of this year, 12 undocumented immigrations in the city have been arrested, which has created unease in neighborhoods.

Chants of “Si se puede!” or “Yes we can!” filled Bridgeport city hall as community members and activists showed up for a public safety committee meeting.

The turnout was meant to push members to move forward with a resolution limiting police and city interactions with ice.
