TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Columbus Boulevard north of Grant Road will close for about three weeks starting Wednesday, October 22, for underground utility work as part of the Grant Road Project.
Travel restrictions will be in place at this intersection through mid-November, as crews install a new water line requiring deep excavation on north Columbus Boulevard.
South Columbus Boulevard remains closed until Spring 2026 for ongoing storm drain construction.
Additionally, base paving on the north side of Grant Road from Sparkman Boulevard to Alvernon Way begins Wednesday. This work will take about a week, after which traffic will shift to the newly paved area, allowing further work on the south side.
The Grant Road Improvement Project, which began in May 2024, will ultimately feature six trav
