A 13-year-old girl is fighting for her life after a driver struck her near Georgia Avenue and Evans Drive in the Wheaton area Sunday evening.

The collision happened in a small section of Montgomery County where three people have been killed trying to cross the street since early July.

On July 6, Blanca Parada Del Cid was struck and killed on Veirs Mill Road near her home.

On Sept. 21, James Anderson, 16, was killed on University Boulevard West.

Two days later, Ganga Prajapati was killed on Veirs Mill Road.

The most recent incident has neighbors begging for a safe crosswalk.
