The D.C. National Guard could remain deployed in the District into the next year.
There is a new court filing in the D.C. attorney general's lawsuit against the Trump administration challenging the Guard’s deployment. The filing says the D.C. attorney general has found evidence in the discovery process that the Guard’s commanding general has been preparing for wintering and that troops are likely to remain in the District indefinitely, potentially through at least next summer for America 250.
