Jammu, Oct 21: Asserting that more than 100 anti-terrorist operations are being carried out daily across the Jammu division, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, said on Tuesday that the presence of foreign terrorists in the dense forests is a major challenge and efforts are underway to neutralise them.
Tuti was speaking to media after leading a wreath-laying ceremony at the Police Martyrs Memorial near Jammu railway station to pay tribute to brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives on Police Commemoration Day. The day commemorates 10 CRPF martyrs who laid down their lives on October 21, 1959, in an ambush by heavily armed Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh, at an altitude of 4,681 metres.
