There are two newcomers in the New Orleans area prep football rankings for Week 8

1. Edna Karr 7-0 (1): The Cougars posted their third shutout and did not allow a touchdown for the fourth time this season while beating Jesuit. Up next is Warren Easton, a team Karr has dominated in recent seasons.

2. John Curtis 6-0 (2): The Patriots were in control for three-plus quarters but let a fumble return touchdown by Brother Martin make it a one-score game. Ball security will be an emphasis this week against Jesuit. Curtis and Karr will play Week 9.
