GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A portion of westbound I-96 is closed Tuesday morning for a semi crash.

Kent County dispatch said a semi jackknifed on the highway around 3:30 a.m., causing westbound I-96 at 28th Street to close one lane.

It is unclear what led up to the crash or if anyone was injured.

Crews are on scene cleaning up debris. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and plan for backups on your morning commute.
