We started the week with the wind machine cranked on high! Parts of western Missouri measured gusts near 50 MPH from the south. Temperatures were also warm in the upper 70s before a cold front snuck through in the evening.
Today will be chilly with high temperatures in the mid-60s and a cool northwest breeze. Winds today won't be as strong as yesterday, but the wind may gust over 20 mph occasionally. The breezy and dry weather today will create elevated fire danger across west-central Missouri.
Tonight, temperatures will fall to the coldest levels we've seen in a while. Skies will be clear and winds will be light. These ingredients will come together to lower temperatures into the upper 30s. Low-lying areas and spots away from town may even find the first frost of the season tonight!
