ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - As the holiday shopping season begins, the Cobb County Police Department is investigating an alleged strangulation and assault at Cumberland Mall.

According to an arrest warrant, a man named Jeramiah Johnson allegedly approached a woman at the mall Saturday night, unholstered a BB gun that resembled a real firearm, and said he “killed people for a living.”

“That’s definitely disturbing, it’s alarming, it just makes you really pause,” Alex Gaines, a shopper, said.

The warrant states Johnson allegedly placed his hands on the victim’s neck and strangled her “to the point that she could not breathe.” Police said she had visible discoloration on her neck.
