A Lanarkshire woman who duped friends and family into thinking a doll was her newborn is to host an Instagram live today (October 21).

Kira Cousins has told followers she will "explain her actions" and "make apologies" on an Instagram live at 4pm. The 22-year-old, from Airdrie , allegedly fooled loved ones into believing her plastic Reborn doll was her baby girl called Bonnie-Leigh Joyce after sporting a fake bump and pretending to give birth.

Kira claimed to have delivered her "daughter" alone, weighing 5lbs 4oz, earlier this month on October 10. She shared photos of baby scans and clips of her lavish gender reveal party in the weeks building up to the "birth", reports the Daily Record .
