LEXINGTON, Ky. — Erica Davenport is used to making baked goods and hot, cooked meals for big crowds.

But to start the week, the Georgetown resident was in Lexington as her nonprofit Turning Insecurities to Opportunities teamed up with the group National Social Justice for the Poor - Repairers of the Breach for "Moral Monday."

The nonprofit started in 2013 under Bishop William Barber in North Carolina.

“Personal to me; I've been homeless," Davenport said. "I've been on the streets. I know how it feels to have to struggle. And if I could, God has put me in a position where I can get out of here and help my community. I like the mission that God put me on."
