The Medicine Hat Cubs picked up one win during their weekend at home.

The Cubs beat the Coaldale Copperheads 8-3 on Friday before falling 6-3 Saturday to the Strathmore Wheatland Kings.

Captain Kyle Woolridge had a hat trick in the win Friday. Makhi Carriere had a goal and two assists, Nolen Sutherland had a goal and a helper and all three of Denyn Smith, Slade McFadzen and Everett Liefso scored in the win. Marlo DeRosa made 23 saves.

On Saturday, Randen Collier had a goal and an assist and both Jacob Hazard and Sutherland found the back of the net. Woolridge had two assists. DeRosa made 22 saves in the loss.
