(Sioux Falls, SD) — A Rapid City man is going to prison for the next 55 years after his conviction on multiple violent offenses. The conviction comes from a 2023 incident in Box Elder where David Poor Bear held a woman and her daughter captive for 36 hours. Poor Bear subjected the woman to rape, multiple assaults and threats of death. The daughter witnessed the assaults and was also threatened.
