UP sends 1,000 quintals of wheat seed for Punjab’s flood-hit farmers; Ashwani Sharma hails ‘example of humanity and cooperation’

Chandigarh, October 21, 2025: Punjab BJP Working President Ashwani Sharma thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for dispatching 1,000 quintals of wheat seed to farmers affected by recent floods in Punjab, calling the initiative a humane, timely gesture that underscores inter-state cooperation. He said the assistance will help farmers restart sowing where fields were inundated and seed stocks destroyed during the deluge.

According to Sharma, the consignment comprises high-quality BB-327 (Karan Shivani) wheat—bio-fortified and disease-resistant—that matures in about 155 days and has a yield potential of up to 80 quintals per hectare. He added that
