A junior law officer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and a court record keeper ( ahlmad ) serving at the MCD Appellate Tribunal have been accused of demanding and accepting a bribe in exchange for a favourable order.
The complainant, one Rakesh Aggarwal, whose property was sealed by MCD officials, had moved the Appellate Tribunal of MCD seeking de-sealing of his property and a stay order against demolition. The ahlmad Vikas Bharti allegedly sought a bribe of ₹1 lakh on behalf of the junior law officer Renu Soni for granting a favourable order.
This prompted Aggarwal to register a complaint on October 16 with the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
