CINCINNATI (WXIX) - An employment attorney representing Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge is about to give an update on her status.

City Manager Sheryl Long said in a statement she put the chief on paid administrative leave Monday “pending an internal investigation on the effectiveness of her leadership in the Cincinnati Police Department.”

Newly appointed Assistant Police Chief Adam Hennie will serve as the interim chief. He has been with the police department for 25 years.

Chief Theetge’s leadership has been under increasing scrutiny following a recent rise in high-profile crimes in the downtown area.

With her future as the chief in limbo, Chief Theetge hired Imm late last week.
