SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Scottsdale City Council is expected to address a lawsuit filed by residents on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

A group wants to strike down a new state law that clears the way for a billion-dollar headquarters for stun gun maker Axon to come to town.

The City of Scottsdale and Governor Katie Hobbs still have yet to comment on the new litigation.

The lawsuit was filed on the same day the law took effect in late September. Court documents claim the new state law violates a constitutional ban on special legislation that benefits specific groups.

An Axon spokesman called the legal action a "tactic to stall progress."
