Gayle King is known for finding friends anywhere.

But the "CBS Mornings" co-anchor – also known as Oprah Winfrey's BFF – struck up a surprising new friendship on a recent plane ride with none other than Jesse Watters, Fox News' primetime host.

"Two TV people from competing networks walk on to a plane and to the surprise of them both, they’re seated right next to each other for over four hours," King wrote in an Instagram caption Monday, Oct. 20. "How did it go? Speaking for @jessewatters here: A good time was had by all! Hi, Jesse…saving your number!"

During the Monday night episode of "Jesse Watters Primetime," the "Five" cohost Watters said King was "cool" during the flight, which lasted over four hours.

While some commenters praised King's display of "unity" and "human decency," others disagreed with her choice to post the run-in, including ex-Ebony magazine editor-in-chief Amy DuBois Barnett who said she loved and respected King but wrote that Watters is "harming our country."

The post comes just days after the CBS News announcement Oct. 6 naming conservative thought leader Bari Weiss of The Free Press as its new editor-in-chief. Earlier this year, President Donald Trump took aim at King on Aug. 4.

"Gayle King's career is over. She should have stayed with her belief in TRUMP," the president wrote on Truth Social. "She never had the courage to do so. No talent, no ratings, no strength!!!"

She hit back a day later, telling TMZ as she exited the "Mornings" studio that she was "sorry" he wasn't a fan of her journalism.

"I'm sorry he feels that way," she told the outlet. "I like my job," she continued, adding that she planned to "continue to do a good job," and that the ire she caught from Trump put her in a club with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift and Stephen Colbert – all entertainers whom the president has criticized over the years.
