Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road crash in West Lothian ahead of rush hour.

Police, paramedics and the Scottish Fire and Rescue have reportedly closed the A71 after the Oakbank Roundabout in Livingston following the incident.

It's understood a road crash took place on the main road approaching Kirknewton at around 3.30pm with motorists being forced to divert.

It's not yet been confirmed how many vehicles were involved or if there are any casualties.

One passer-by claims a silver BMW and a black bumper were being cleared from the road.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, the passing driver said: "I hope everyone is okay. From what I can tell, it was one car that seems to have spun out but it has front end damage so it's possibly hit another car.
