Faith and flour are some pretty good ingredients to start a business with, and evidence for both was on full display for a ribbon cutting at Panadería Espiga de Fe y Abarrotes, a new bakery at 212 Lincoln Avenue across from Lincoln Heights Middle School in Morristown.
The new family owned business will serve up fresh baked goods along with some grocery items sourced from Latin America.
“We want to serve God through our work and share something good with others,” said co-owner Asunción Hernández, who operates the bakery with her husband Gerardo.
The panaderia, or bakery, offers a variety of traditional Mexican breads, including sweet breads, sandwich rolls called bolillos, donuts, pastries and more.
