The Women's Professional Baseball League announced today it's launching next season with four inaugural teams: Boston, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Boston — Where the past meets progress.
A city steeped in baseball history embraces the future with open arms. Boston's team will stand on the shoulders of generations of fans and players who have defined the sport's legacy.
OK, a bit thin on details there, like a name, where they'll play, who the players and owners are.
The league is planning an initial season of seven weeks, starting in May: Four weeks of an actual season, one week for a playoff game and two weeks for a championship series. Games will be seven innings, hitters will use aluminum bats and each team will have a 15-player roster.
