ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - An elderly woman was taken to a hospital as a precaution after hitting a business with her car, according to Roanoke County Police.

Police say the woman accidentally hit the gas pedal Tuesday morning instead of the brake, and ran into a storefront window, shattering the glass.

The woman did not appear to be seriously hurt, according to police.

Police say a building inspector determined “no support beam was damaged” at the store on Starkey Road.
