BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Idaho Representative Russ Fulcher voiced concerns over the Qatari facility being built on Mountain Home Air Force Base.
He is asking the Secretary of War and the Trump administration questions about it and sharing what he knows with Idaho lawmakers. He says he trusts the administration but wants to know more to “ensure the best interests of Idahoans.”
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced the new facility last week. It will handle training and maintenance for Qatari air force troops, allowing both militaries to train with each other.
The announcement caught many Idaho leaders by surprise. The mayor of Mountain Home says he did not find out until after the announcement.
