The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) investigation into a shooting incident that took place at the Strathcona County RCMP detachment in July has found no reasonable grounds to believe that the officers involved committed any offence.

The report has taken CCTV footage, bodycam footage and interviews with officers and civilians to form a solid account of what took place that day.

At about 10:30 a.m. on July 28, an officer saw a vehicle parked in a secure parking lot of the Strathcona County RCMP detachment. As the officer drove by, she saw the individual by the vehicle holding a gun.

The officer radioed into the detachment informing the officers and civilians about the individual. Officers inside the detachment immediately responded.
