Dozens of residents rallied outside of the law courts in Edmonton on Monday after Samuel Bird’s remains were found on a rural property outside of Edmonton, near Stony Plain.

Bird’s accused killer was scheduled for a bail hearing that didn’t end up taking place that day.

38-year-old Bryan Ferrell is being held on fifteen charges, including second-degree murder and indignity to a body.

Police believe that the 14-year-old Bird was killed on June 1, the last day that he was seen alive.

The bail hearing was put off until November 10, but it could be pushed back further.
