The Los Angeles Angels have picked their new manager.

Longtime MLB catcher Kurt Suzuki will take over the Angels’ dugout, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported on Tuesday.

It will mark the first managerial gig for the 42-year-old Suzuki, who spent the past three years as a special assistant to Angels general manager Perry Minasian.

The Wailuku, Hawaii, native played 16 years in the majors, including the last two with the Angels, before retiring after the 2022 season.

Over 1,635 career games, Suzuki batted .255 with 143 home runs and 730 RBIs.

He made his lone all-star team in 2014 while with the Minnesota Twins, hitting .288 with three home runs and 61 RBIs on the season.
