STORRS, Conn. (WTNH) — Six members of the UConn women's basketball team were awarded Big East Conference preseason honors on Tuesday.

The Huskies are projected to win the conference, with senior Serah Williams, graduate Azzi Fudd and juniors KK Arnold and Ashlynn Shade all being named to the the Preseason All- Big East Team.

Sophomore forward Sarah Strong was named Preseason Player of the Year after a monumental freshman year with the Huskies.

In the 2024/2025 season, Strong led the team in rebounds, blocks and steals and was second on the team in points and assists en route to a national championship.

Strong was named 2025 WBCA National Freshman of the Year.

Kelis Fisher was named Big East Preseason Freshman of the Year. She was ESPN's No. 25 recruit and led IMG Academy to its first
