COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - The father of a 17-year-old motorcyclist injured in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend says the teen isn’t expected to survive, according to an update from Council Bluffs Police.

In an updated news release Tuesday, CBPD said the 52-year-old driver had been identified but not yet charged.

Police previously indicated that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. In Tuesday’s update, police said a search warrant was granted to test his blood because “he was showing signs of impairment.”

“Warrants will be issued for his arrest after the toxicology results are complete,” the release states.
