Two newcomers are vying for outgoing Washougal City Councilor Julie Russell’s position on the Nov. 4 ballot.
Marty Swofford Jr. is a U.S. Navy veteran who served more than 10 years as an aviation electrician. He currently works in operations leadership, specializing in strategic planning, process improvement and fiscal accountability.
“(In the Navy), I gained extensive leadership and organizational experience,” he said. “Professionally, I’ve led multimillion-dollar operational improvements across industries ranging from aerospace to construction. I bring a unique mix of leadership, financial management, and operational expertise.”
