SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - A trash truck crashed into multiple vehicles and a stone wall at the intersection of Newton and Lyman Streets in South Hadley.

In a news release by the South Hadley Police Department, officers were called on October 17th at around 10 a.m. to a report of a multi-vehicle crash involving a truck used to haul dumpsters. Upon arrival at the intersection of Newton and Lyman Streets, officers learned that the truck was traveling southbound on Newton Street when it rear-ended a vehicle, which caused a chain reaction to hit the vehicle in front of the other.

The truck then jumped a curb and crashed into a stone wall near PeoplesBank. South Hadley police issued a citation to the driver of the truck, and additional charges may be issued by the Massachusetts State Police
