WAPELLO COUNTY, Iowa -- An 18-year-old has been charged with assault following an incident at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School in southeast Iowa on October 7th.

Korbin Durbin, the accused, allegedly attempted to harass another student, leading to a series of disruptive actions. According to the Wapello County Sheriff's Office, Durbin was locked out of a classroom after the student sought refuge inside.

Investigators report that Durbin broke several classroom windows and sprayed a fire extinguisher into the room. During the chaos, a teacher who tried to intervene was sprayed in the face with the extinguisher by Durbin.
