DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings elevated their trust in young players when Todd McLellan took over as coach midway through last season and that belief continues into this season.

With Patrick Kane out at least two more games with an upper-body injury, the club will rely on youth to fill the future Hall-of-Famer’s roles.
