Edmonton mayoral hopeful and former city councillor Tim Carmell has conceded the race for mayor.

“This afternoon I reached out to congratulate Andrew Knack,” Cartmell said in a statement. “He has a big job ahead, and I truly wish him success. Because when Edmonton succeeds, we all succeed.”

With 58 per cent of polls reporting, Knack led Cartmell by 11,500 votes.
