BRAINERD — The Brainerd City Council agreed Monday, Oct. 20, to a collective bargaining agreement with its newest union representing managers and supervisors at Brainerd Public Utilities.

The group unionized in 2024 and includes four members — the business office supervisor, electric distribution supervisor, water/wastewater manager and operations manager.

The intent of the union, according to the agreement, is to assure a sound and mutually beneficial working and economic relationship between the parties, establish procedures for the resolution of disputes concerning the agreement, and place in written form an agreement of the conditions of employment.

The approved agreement is effective from July 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2026.
