Workers at some of D.C.’s historic music venues are working to unionize.
More than 300 workers have joined the effort calling for card check agreements that look to streamline the process to assess support for union representation without employer interference.

Inconsistent schedules, low wages along with juggling multiple jobs — those are just some of the reasons why the group of workers is trying to unionize.
“We are a world class venue, and we are not treated as such,” said Hunter Spears, a crowd management worker at the 9:30 Club.
Spears has gone from making music memories at some of the district’s most notable live music venues to now working to create those moments for patrons who stop by the 9:30 Club, the Atla
