OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A woman has been arrested after she allegedly filed a false report making allegations against an officer with the Oak Ridge Police Department, according to Seventh District Attorney General Dave Clark.

Clark said an investigation began after 49-year-old Rebecca N. Bowman filed a report alleging rape by an ORPD officer.

Following an investigation by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, a warrant was issued for Bowman’s arrest. Clark said she has since been arrested and charged with felony filing a false report.

“It is important to maintain public confidence in law enforcement, and as a result, we both hold ourselves accountable and citizens who make reports,” said Anderson County Sheriff Russell Barker.
