AUSTIN (KXAN) — Students at two Liberty Hill Independent School District schools were released early Tuesday because of a water outage, the district wrote in an email.

According to Liberty Hill ISD, Liberty Hill High School and Bill Burden Elementary experienced a "significant water outage caused by a major water line break along Highway 29.”

The district said crews are working to repair the issue. Because the line is connected to both campuses, water service was disrupted, which prompted the district to assess student safety and comfort.

The district said it is in contact with the city of Georgetown and will share an estimated repair time as soon as one becomes available.
