LIVINGSTON, Texas — A 62-year-old East Texas woman was arrested after police say she came to the station to speak with an officer, but she unexpectedly started punching and kicking him.

Brenda Bradshaw, of Livingston, has been charged with assault of a peace officer and unlawful carrying of a weapon and booked into the Polk County Jail.

According to the Livingston Police Department, she came to the lobby of the department station asking to talk to a specific officer with whom she said she was comfortable due to past interactions.

She said she wanted to talk to the officer about an incident that happened in another jurisdiction. But when the officer arrived, Bradshaw started assaulting the officer during the conversation.
