DeKALB COUNTY, Ill. — The name of the person who was killed in the traffic crash in Sycamore on Monday was revealed.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said 25-year-old Ethan Waratuke of Mount Prospect was killed in the crash.

Waratuke was driving a car heading southbound on County Line Road. It was stopped at a stop sign and then pulled into the intersection of County Line Road and Route 64.

A car going westbound on Route 64, driven by 62-year-old Cynthia Scarpitti of Maple Park, then crashed into the car driven by Waratuke.

Waratuke was taken to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb where he was pronounced dead. Scarpitti was also taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.
