PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Most Arizona public school students failed state standardized tests, according to the latest assessment results released this month.

In the spring assessment provided by the Arizona Department of Education, 40% of students passed the English language arts section, while only 33% passed math. The results were fairly stagnant compared to the previous year. In spring 2024, the pass rate in English was the same. Math saw a pass rate of 32%.

District performance varies widely

Students in the state’s largest districts showed mixed results. In Mesa, students performed below the statewide average with a pass rate of 38% for English and 31% for math.
