Michigan lawmaker taken to hospital after medical issue during session

Lansing — A state lawmaker was wheeled off the floor of the Michigan House of Representatives on a stretcher Tuesday after experiencing a medical issue.

State Rep. Jennifer Wortz, R-Quincy, was transported by medical personnel shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday after experiencing a medical issue in caucus, which is usually held in a room behind the main House chamber.
