CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) -- After the Trump administration recently gave Argentina $20 billion to facilitate a soybean purchase with China, the president is further suggesting buying Argentine beef.

He said he believes that diluting the U.S. beef supply will reduce current prices.

Central Illinois cattlemen wouldn't speak their thoughts on the move publicly, but Colin Woodall, CEO of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, did.

"We are extremely concerned with the plan, but probably more importantly, we are just flat disappointed that this is the approach that the president has taken," Woodall said.
