Vice President JD Vance visited Israel on Tuesday, working to secure the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that was agreed to earlier this month.
Vance attended the opening of a civilian military cooperation center. His visit came as the Israelis and America are working together to provide aid to Gaza. Advertisement
Under the terms of the ceasefire , Hamas is expected to turn over the remains of 28 hostages. Hamas turned over one this week, bringing the total returned to 13.
Vance’s visit to the region comes after fighting broke out over the weekend, though Vance clarified he didn’t come to Israel due to violations of the ceasefire.
