Women fought for equality. Instead, we’re exhausted

I am a working mum, and I’m not thriving. I’m surviving. Every day I wake up exhausted – not just tired, but hollow.
I’m juggling work, daycare drop-offs, bills, groceries, guilt, and a house that constantly feels one step away from chaos.
My daughter is sick again with daycare bugs. First it was RSV. Then hand, foot and mouth. Then conjunctivitis. Then the flu. I’ve lost count.
We’re all sick, most of the time. I work four days a week because that’s what the bank requires for a home loan – not because it’s right for me or for her. Just because that’s what the system needs to tick a box.
