PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (WTOC) - One step closer for a soon to be - big entertainment spot is becoming a reality.

Tuesday, city leaders in Port Wentworth gathered as crews topped off the Amphitheater and Ice Cove at Anchor Park.

Vertical construction on the amphitheater and ice cove started in June of this year.

Anchor Park will not only house the Savannah Ghost Pirates training facility and 5,200 seat covered amphitheater, but it will also be home to a restaurant, retail shop, multi-use fields and farmers’ market.

The first part of Anchor Park should be completed in August.
