Officials identified the victims of a fatal plane crash in Lafayette Parish on Tuesday.

The crash occurred just after 11 a.m., when deputies with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a small aircraft losing altitude, circling, and then crashing into an open field near the intersection of Gloria Switch road and La. Hghway 93.

Upon arrival, deputies confirmed that the aircraft, a Beechcraft Baron a twin-engine airplane had crashed. All three occupants aboard were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following notification of the family, the deceased have been identified as 58-year-old Bruce Verduyn of The Woodlands, Texas; 46-year-old Lydia Laws of Spring, Texas; and 42-year-old Justin Ramsey of The Woodlands, Texas.

Deputies are currently securing the crash site
