PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Miriam Hospital in Providence broke ground Tuesday on a $125 million renovation project that will feature a modernized emergency department with expanded capacity.
The hospital said the project will also include adding single-occupancy inpatient rooms and other campus-wide infrastructure upgrades.
The Miriam Hospital was founded in 1926 through grassroot efforts lead by local women. Hospital president Maria Ducharme said the project will both celebrate the hospital's legacy and its future.
