JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) - A United States marine died after he was shot in a possible road rage case in North Carolina this past weekend.
The deadly shooting happened on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 19 along Burgaw Highway in Onslow County.
First responders were called and when they got to where the shooting happened, they found the marine -- 31-year-old Dylan Rasmussen -- with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the Naval Medical Center at Camp Lejeune, where he later died.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office said it quickly identified the suspect as 43-year-old James Wells. He was arrested and booked into the Onslow County jail by Sunday night.
An arrest warrant alleged that Wells -- who was charged with second-degree murder -- stopped his vehicle and got into a verbal argumen
